Music Review: Thinkin About You - Mario

The DJ’s Take: This is one of the well-received singles off Mario’s new album D.N.A., and it’s already been getting some radio play. Personally, I don’t see Thinkin About You becoming quite the same anthem that Love In This Club was, but it’s in the ball park and has a sunnier feel to it that I like. I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t break into the top 25 on the Hot 100 at some point.

The DJ’s Take: With apologies to the people all over the country who like this track, this is one of the worst pop songs I’ve ever heard. It’s like Jeremih and the producer got lifted on Nyquil and wanted to see how much of a mockery they could make of the Billboard Hot 100. I cannot listen to this without getting heavy eyelids. The video is kind of funny though.

DJ Swag: Skullcandy Brown Hesh Headphones

Ever wanted to rock Louis Vuitton on your head as you’re spinning a set or listening to music on the subway? No, LV doesn’t make leather headphones as far as I know, but these brown audio earmuffs from Skullcandy are about as close as I’ve seen to the real deal. They go for $49.95, which actually sounds like a good deal considering an average pair of DJ headphones goes for double that amount.
