Music Review: Jump - Kris Kross
Speed: 102 bpm
The DJ’s Take: You can’t get any more early 90s than this - production from a hungry Jermaine Dupri built around a Jackson 5 sample, backwards Cross Colours gear, and two juvenile rap stars who would soon flame out like a candle in a drizzle. Still, a hot track that gets played in NBA arenas when the ref’s about to throw a jump ball. Keep this in mind - I play 80s nights right now. But as the youth continue to grow, the 90s will become the new 80s, and you’ll be needing stuff like this to keep everyone hyped.
