Just A Friend - Biz Markie

tempo: 85 bpm bpm range: 80 bpm to 85 bpm , 85 bpm to 90 bpm The DJ's Take:  Song #10 in detour 44  (20:40): One of the great singalong songs of all-time, whether you're spinning at a college bar or doing karaoke. On a more technical note: transitioning into The Deele's Two Occasions was a bit trickier than expected. Not 100% key-compatible, at least over a longer period, so I brought The Deele in at the very end to minimize any clashing. P.S.: If you want to make a fashion statement at your next gig, this might do the trick [click the image to get it on amazon]: Some other mix-worthy music: Big Poppa - The Notorious B.I.G. Between the Sheets - The Isley Brothers Stressed Out - twenty one pilots Thunder - Imagine Dragons Damn! - YoungBloodZ APESHIT - THE CARTERS Truth Hurts - Lizzo Nobody Speak - DJ Shadow ft. Run the Jewels Through the Wire - Kanye West I'm Upset - Drake Paranoid - Post Malone End Game - Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Fu

Cake - Flo Rida & 99 Percent

tempo: 105 bpm The DJ's Take:  The leadoff song in 45 and Lex : Surprising that this wasn't a bigger hit. Party vibe is undeniable; should play well for people of all ages. Flows nicely into Clean Bandit & Demi Lovato's  Solo , and gets the mix off to a strong start. On a side note, saw this t-shirt on amazon and had a flashback to high school [click the image for the product page]: This is the album that features one of the great workout songs of all-time: I remember being on the tennis team, riding shotgun to an away match, and the coach suddenly asked me to take over the steering wheel so he could eat a sandwich. This song was blasting on the stereo as we were going around 80 mph on the highway. Pretty exhilarating. Also a minor miracle that we didn't all die. Anyway, back to the Flo Rida track - some key-compatible music between 100 and 105 bpm: Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay Paris - The Chainsmokers Ki

I'm In Control - AlunaGeorge, Popcaan

tempo: 104 bpm bpm range: 100 to 105 bpm The DJ's Take:  Song #3 in 45 and Lex  (3:45): I like the distorted synth leading into the distorted vocals in Rita Ora's  Anywhere . Probably won't make the crowd go crazy, but it should keep things moving pretty nicely. Especially if people are in the mood for smoother electro-pop. Some key-compatible music between 100 and 105 bpm: Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay Paris - The Chainsmokers Kids - OneRepublic Perfect (Matoma Remix) - One Direction Cheyenne - Jason Derulo Classic - The Knocks Alejandro - Lady Gaga And from 105 to 110 bpm: LoveGame - Lady Gaga Solo - Clean Bandit (ft. Demi Lovato) Breathe Deeper - Tame Impala Madiba Riddim - Drake Sleeping With A Friend - Neon Trees Nasty Boy - Notorious BIG Shots - Imagine Dragons Midnight City - M83 Last Christmas - Wham! After Hours - The Weeknd

tempo: 109 bpm The DJ's Take:  Song #10 in mix 46  (14:11): When I first heard this, my immediate thought was double-timing it over  The Hills . And lo and behold, we made a pretty savory mix / mashup that fans of The Weeknd will appreciate. On the more technical side, took an instrumental-only slice of After Hours and slipped it under the opening of The Hills to soften the transition (in  Logic Pro X ): Worth a spin on a pop night. Try mixing with: Treasure - Bruno Mars Want to Want Me - Jason Derulo Boom Boom - RedOne, Daddy Yankee, French Montana In My Head - Jason Derulo Because Of You - Ne-Yo Heat Stroke - Calvin Harris Hands To Myself - Selena Gomez Cool For The Summer - Demi Lovato Fun - Pitbull ft. Chris Brown Anywhere - Dillon Francis download or stream After Hours: amazon spotify playlist

Treasure - Bruno Mars

tempo: 116 bpm The DJ's Take:  The leadoff song in mix 46 : Kind of a cute, modern day roller skating jam-anthem. Should get a decent reaction on a pop night. That said, the real story here is the compatibility with Jason Derulo's Want to Want Me - seamless drop that hits like a sledgehammer. This is something I'd try live if I were still spinning. Try mixing with: Boom Boom - RedOne, Daddy Yankee, French Montana In My Head - Jason Derulo Because Of You - Ne-Yo Heat Stroke - Calvin Harris Hands To Myself - Selena Gomez Cool For The Summer - Demi Lovato Fun - Pitbull ft.
