Music Review: Hold Yuh - Gyptian

Speed: 101 bpm Recommended bpm range: 100 to 105 bpm The DJ’s Take: This track is a perfect example of beauty in simplicity. Simple keyboard-driven melody, simple shimmering synth underneath (like the one at the beginning of Young Forever ), simple bass, and simple drums. I’ve gotten a couple written-on-a-napkin requests for this one, and most importantly, you can make a pretty sweet 4 song mix with it (see below; use key adjust). I rag on a lot of today’s pop music, but this is catchy, and I’ve been spinning it for the past few weekends. Now that it’s cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, more of your crowd may recognize it, so press play and see what happens.
