The Biggest Hits of 2015

Have a dj gig lined up for New Year's Eve? Simply feel like looking back at the biggest hits of 2015? Here's a list of our readers' 66 favorite tracks from the past year:

No Role Modelz - J. Cole

Speed: 50 bpm Recommended bpm range: 45 bpm to 50 bpm , 50 bpm to 55 bpm The DJ's Take: I have to say that the Dubya sample in the middle is one of my favorites. Obviously a little slow, but it's popular enough that you should get some traction on a hiphop or more laidback Top 40 night. Try mixing with The Devil Is A Lie - Rick Ross ft. Jay-Z or half-timing into tracks like Get Busy - Sean Paul , Get Low - Lil Jon , Hold Yuh - Gyptian , No Letting Go - Wayne Wonder , and This Is How We Do It - Montell Jordan . Download the song: iTunes   Amazon

Promise - Kid Ink ft. Fetty Wap

Speed: 103 bpm Recommended bpm range: 100 to 105 bpm The DJ's Take: I think we're at the point where you can get a strong 15-20 minutes out of this bpm range & key. Sort of feels like DJ Mustard is taking a page out of the Kygo & Matoma playbook, which is understandable. Worth a download for the new music playlist; try mixing or mashing up with tracks like: Try Me - Jason Derulo ft. Jennifer Lopez & Matoma , Sorry - Justin Bieber , Sexual Healing (Kygo Remix) - Marvin Gaye , Stay - Kygo ft. Maty Noyes , Here For You - Kygo ft. Ella Henderson , Omen - Disclosure ft. Sam Smith , About You - Trey Songz , You Know You Like It - DJ Snake and AlunaGeorge , Worth It - Fifth Harmony , I'm Sprung - T-Pain , Stuck On A Feeling - Prince Royce , Electric Feel - MGMT , Sexual Healing - Maxamillion , Get Low - Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz Download the song: iTunes Amazon

Haters - Deorro & Will Sparks ft. iE-z

Speed: 128 bpm Recommended bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm The DJ's Take: This one's got some attitude, doesn't it? The warping, popping bass, catchy hook, and amped-up vuvuzelas should induce some serious fist-pumping in the right setting . Try mixing or mashing up with some or all of the following: Now That I've Found You - Martin Garrix , I'll House You (VIP Mix) - Don Diablo ft. Jungle Brothers , Virus (How About Now) - Martin Garrix ft. MOTi , Strong - R3HAB and KSHMR , What Do You Mean? - Justin Bieber , Wildest Dreams (R3hab Remix) - Taylor Swift , Disarm You - Kaskade , One Last Time - Ariana Grande , Time of Our Lives - Pitbull and NeYo , Fireball - Pitbull , Open Wide - Calvin Harris ,  Flashlight - R3hab & Deorro ,  #SELFIE - The Chainsmokers ,  Cannonball (Earthquake) - Showtek & Justin Prime ft. Matthew Koma ,  I Love It - Icona Pop ,  Animals - Martin Garrix ,  Under Control - Calvin Harris & Alesso ,  Stay The Night - Zedd ,  Clarit

I'll House You (VIP Mix) - Don Diablo ft. Jungle Brothers

Speed: 126 bpm Recommended bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm The DJ's Take: Maybe it's just me, but Don Diablo sounds like the name of a boxer you should be facing in the next edition of Mike Tyson's Punch Out (if I were creating the back-story, he'd be the revenge-obsessed son of this guy ). The original song is cool, but probably something you should only spin at old school hiphop events. As for this one, a little loud and obnoxious for a Top 40 party in my opinion, but worth a go if you're feeling confident. Try mixing or mashing up with key-compatible tracks like: Now That I've Found You - Martin Garrix , Haters - Deorro & Will Sparks ft. iE-z , Virus (How About Now) - Martin Garrix ft. MOTi , Strong - R3HAB and KSHMR , What Do You Mean? - Justin Bieber , Wildest Dreams (R3hab Remix) - Taylor Swift , Disarm You - Kaskade , One Last Time - Ariana Grande , Time of Our Lives - Pitbull and NeYo , Fireball - Pitbull , Open Wide - Calvin Harris ,  Flashl

Might Not - Belly ft. The Weeknd

Speed: 67 bpm Recommended bpm range: 65 bpm to 70 bpm The DJ's Take: Shouldn't this be credited as The Weeknd ft. Belly? Because it's pretty much his song. And that's why you figure Might Not could get some traction. Try mixing or mashing up with tracks like: Jumpman - Drake & Future , Uber Everywhere - Madeintyo , Wonderful - Travis Scott ft. The Weeknd , Mercy - Kanye West , Throw Sum Mo (feat. Nicki Minaj & Young Thug) - Rae Sremmurd , Bad Girls - M.I.A , Pony - Ginuwine Download the song: iTunes Amazon

Perfect (Matoma Remix) - One Direction

Speed: 100 bpm Recommended bpm range: 95 to 100 bpm , 100 to 105 bpm The DJ's Take: Takes the original, which you figure is something 17 year old girls rock out to in their bedrooms or in the car, and gives it a little bounce and broader dance-ability. Or maybe I've morphed into a 17 year old girl without even knowing it. Anyway, worth a spot in the new music playlist. Try mixing or mashing up with tracks like Cheyenne - Jason Derulo , Shots - Imagine Dragons , Classic - The Knocks , Sleeping With A Friend - Neon Trees , Midnight City - M83 , Alejandro - Lady Gaga , LoveGame - Lady Gaga , and Nasty Boy - Notorious BIG . If you're right around 100 bpm, Same Old Love - Selena Gomez should work too. Download the song: iTunes Amazon
