We Belong - Pat Benatar

tempo: 68 bpm the dj's take: The final song in episode 58 (17:48): Fun way to end the mix - cut out the last section of this track with the Marquee tool in Logic Pro X so we could open with the heavy percussion (in light pink). Then I added the opening guitar/quasi-percussion from Drake's Hotline Bling (in blue) so we weren't just immediately dropping into Pat Benatar vocals + drum-less synths: Overall, worth a spin to wrap up your next set - solid singalong potential as well. Some other key-compatible tracks from 65 to 70 bpm: Motorsport - Migos First Day Out - Kodak Black Versace (Remix) - Migos ft. Silence - Marshmello, Khalid

tempo: 71 bpm the dj's take: Song #10 in our chapter 56 mix (24:38): Nice way to end things; the organ intro fits pretty well over Forever , and we even get Khalid and Justin Bieber trading 'whoa-oh-whoa's,' which feels like a quasi-duet. Might make sense to turn down the volume on this one, because it's relatively heavy (like many Marshmello tracks). Dad joke time: if you play a song entitled 'Silence' over a sound system, does that mean you're literally listening to the sound of silence ? Ok; I'll see myself out... Some other key-compatible music: Underneath It All - No Doubt ft. Lady Saw Cinderella - Mac Miller, Ty Dolla $ign Lemonade - Internet Money & Gunna Pony - Ginuwine Tha Crossroads - Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Throw Sum Mo - Rae Sremmurd Close to Me - Ellie Goulding, Diplo, Swae Lee 7 rings - Ariana Grande Mine - Bazzi Bank Account - 21 Savage Silence - Marshmello, Khalid Rake It Up - Yo Gotti ft. Hot in Herre - Nelly

Speed: 107 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #8 in our edition 57 mix (22:28): You know, I wanted to follow this up with House of Pain's Jump Around , but the drums just didn't match up in Logic Pro X , so we went with Intergalactic instead. Definitely worked for me during gigs on vinyl and cd players in the mid 2000s, so if you're using a traditional dj setup, try it out. Some other key- and bpm-compatible music: Rapture - Blondie Get Down On It - Kool & The Gang Rapper's Delight - The Sugarhill Gang Changes - 2Pac Dákiti - Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez I'll Be Missing You - Puff Daddy, Faith Evans Watch Me Do - Meghan Trainor I Wish (My Taylor Swift) - The Knocks & Matthew Koma Feel Right - Mark Ronson ft. Rapper's Delight - The Sugarhill Gang

Speed: 110 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #6 in our edition 57 mix (13:17): If you need a breather during a set or a gig, this one needs to be in the rotation. A family-friendly classic that'll give you some extra minutes to figure out your next move. Also, healthy breaks at the beginning and end that give you plenty of runway for the transitions in and out. The drawback: if you're in the zone and let it run too long, you risk losing the momentum (and the crowd). Within the mix, I like the placement between Blondie's Rapture and Kool & The Gang's Get Down On It - nice little late 70s / early 80s vibe that the older folk will appreciate. Some other key- and bpm-compatible music: Changes - 2Pac Dákiti - Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez I'll Be Missing You - Puff Daddy, Faith Evans Watch Me Do - Meghan Trainor I Wish (My Taylor Swift) - The Knocks & Matthew Koma Feel Right - Mark Ronson ft. Mystikal Peaches N Cream - Snoop Dogg Trouble - Iggy Azal

positions - Ariana Grande

tempo: 72 bpm the dj's take: Song #4 in episode 58 (8:20): As we transitioned out of Monster , I used the Marquee tool in Logic Pro X to cut out the plucked strings intro, then moved it over to double up the runway. No percussion means this can overlap nicely over another track with heavier percussion: And at the end of the song, the move into Bruno Mars' Marry You is about as smooth as it gets. Could get a good reaction from the female demographic. Some other key-compatible tracks from 70 to 75 bpm: Blocks - Marshmello Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled Handsome And Wealthy - Migos Holy Grail - Jay-Z ft. Justin Timberlake First Day Out - Kodak Black Gucci On My - Mike WiLL Made-It, 21 Savage, YG, Migos And from 65 to 70: Motorsport - Migos First Day Out - Kodak Black Versace (Remix) - Migos ft.
