Fashion Killa - A$AP Rocky

speed: 70 bpm the dj’s take:  Song #2 in episode #68 of our mix show (2:15): So I issued the challenge to mashup Whatcha Say with Fashion Killa awhile ago , and when no one answers the call, you have to take matters into your own hands. My final verdict: it was ok. The beats are definitely compatible with the robotic female voices, although it took some adjusting to keep them from overwhelming each other during the transition. I think the potential for a good mashup is still there. But you may want to put in a little more work than I did. Some other key-compatible music: Don't Go - Skrillex, Justin Bieber, Don Toliver [75 bpm] Up and Down - Doja Cat [75 bpm] STUNNAMAN - Birdman, Roddy Ricch, Lil Wayne [72-73 bpm] By Your Side - Sade [73 bpm] In For The Kill - La Roux Believer - Major Lazer, Showtek Everyday - A$AP Rocky, Rod Stewart, Miguel, Mark Ronson She Knows - Ne-Yo, Juicy J Whatcha Say - Jason Derulo Ridin' - Chamillionaire, Krayzie Bone...

Praise The Lord (Da Shine) - A$AP Rocky ft. Skepta

tempo: 80 bpm the dj's take: Song #3 in session 47  (4:55): Random reference - the flute-like instrument in the beat reminds me of the opening theme to Final Fantasy IX: Good fodder for a hiphop mix. Hisses a bit at times, so check your levels during the transition into whatever's next. Some other key-compatible music: Can't Tell Me Nothing - Kanye West Blinding Lights - The Weeknd Xxplosive - Dr. Dre So Fresh, So Clean - OutKast break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored - Ariana Grande This Is Why I'm Hot - MIMS It's Gonna Be Me - NSYNC Flexicution - Logic Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio Simple Things (Remix) - Miguel Turnin Me On - Keri Hilson You Make Me Wanna - Usher download or stream Praise The Lord (Da Shine): amazon spotify playlist

Good For You - Selena Gomez ft. A$AP Rocky

tempo: 89 bpm bpm range: 85  to  90 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #1 in our bedtime magic mix : A former #5 single in the US with a catchy hook that should resonate for awhile. Most importantly, it became a national inspiration for anyone trying to decide how to humiliate the last place finisher in their fantasy football league: Worth a longer-term spot in the rotation for a Top 40 night. Try mixing or mashing up with key-compatible tracks like: El Pérdon - Nicky Jam, Enrique Iglesias Si Tú La Ves - Nicky Jam, Wisin Encanto - Don Omar, Sharlene Taule My Last - Big Sean ft. Chris Brown El Amante - Nicky Jam Gold - Kiiara Body Say - Demi Lovato Genie In A Bottle - Christina Aguilera Sexy Can I - Ray J Coming Over - Dillon Francis & Kygo ft. James Hersey My Last - Big Sean ft. Chris Brown Karma - Lloyd Banks Hey Ma - Cam'ron download or stream Good For You: amazon spotify playlist itunes

No Limit - G-Eazy ft. A$AP Rocky, Cardi B

tempo: 89 bpm bpm range: 85 bpm  to  90 bpm the dj's take: Those drums are fancy. A throwback beat that reminds me a little of Back That Azz Up , especially with the cymbals: Worth a spot on a mixtape or in a hiphop set. If you're staying key-compatible, try mixing with: Rude Boy - Rihanna Izzo (H.O.V.A.) - Jay-Z Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys Famous - Kanye West Back to Back - Drake Izzo (H.O.V.A.) - Jay-Z Energy - Drake The Black The Berry - Kendrick Lamar Black Widow - Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora Reaper - Sia Remember Me - T.I. ft. Mary J. Blige download or stream No Limit: amazon spotify playlist itunes

Groupie Love - Lana Del Rey ft. A$AP Rocky

tempo: 88 bpm bpm range:   85 bpm  to  90 bpm the dj's take: This makes me want to lie down in a lush meadow on a sunny, windless day and take a long nap. Perfect background music for a perfume or high-end fashion brand. The little hint of percussion makes it spinnable enough, especially if you mash up / combine with other material. If you're a dj working between 85 to 90 bpm, try mixing with: Crying In The Club - Camila Cabello Throw It In The Bag - Fabolous Between 80 and 85 bpm: Sure Thing - Miguel Golden - Travie McCoy ft. Sia Talk That Talk - Rihanna And right around 90 bpm: Cheap Thrills - Sia Ridin Solo - Jason Derulo Take On Me (Kygo Remix) - a-ha Should've Been Us - Tori Kelly Stereo Hearts - Gym Class Heroes download or stream the song: amazon itunes

Everyday - A$AP Rocky ft. Rod Stewart, Miguel & Mark Ronson

Speed: 75 bpm Recommended bpm range:   70 bpm  to  75 bpm ,  75 bpm  to  80 bpm The DJ's Take: Feel like I'm in church listening to this - hard to go wrong with a deep, soothing organ. Plus, who the hell samples Rod Stewart and flips it into a fake duet with Miguel? Solid track for your basement stoner party mixtape. If you're staying key-compatible (with the Rod Stewart/Miguel part at least), try blending with tracks like She Knows - NeYo , Whatcha Say - Jason Derulo , Ridin' - Chamillionaire , and T.I.'s No Matter What . Fyi - bpm for the slowdown in the middle is around 59 bpm. Download or stream the song: Spotify playlist Apple Music iTunes

F**kin' Problems - A$AP Rocky ft. Drake, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar

Speed: 96 bpm The DJ's Take: Aside from the chorus, I actually don't mind this track too much. One thing you kind of forget when you think about how Drake was on Degrassi Junior High and picks fights with tough guys like Chris Brown - he can rap. Anyway, if you're feeling adventurous, try mixing with something like Fallin Up . If not, be a sellout and shoehorn into something like Thrift Shop . Download the song: Amazon:
