Me Too - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 124 bpm Recommended bpm range: 120 to 125 bpm , 125 to 130 bpm The DJ's Take: Not a fan, but I understand - this is not for me. Currently Top 5 on iTunes, probably due to strong support from teenage females. Take a flyer on a pop night, then get into more serious key-compatible tracks like:

Better - Meghan Trainor ft. Yo Gotti

Speed: 86 bpm Recommended bpm range: 85 bpm to 90 bpm The DJ's Take: Whenever you release a reggae-flavored pop single, isn't it almost always supposed to feature Sean Paul? Not expecting this to be a big hit, but considering the artist, it's worth a spot in the new music playlist. Try mixing or mashing up with tracks like:

I Love Me - Meghan Trainor ft. Lunchmoney Lewis

Speed: 97 bpm Recommended bpm range: 95 to 100 bpm The DJ's Take: Sounds like a non-Caribbean version of Pon de Replay , right? So there's a potential mashup right there. Probably better suited for a dance recital than a Top 40 night, but considering the singer, you may want to keep this in your back pocket. Try mixing with tracks like: You Be Killin Em - Fabolous , It Girl - Pharrell , Magic - Coldplay , Stereo Hearts - Gym Class Heroes , You're All I Need - Method Man & Mary J. Blige , Baby Baby Baby - TLC , Opposite of Adults - Chiddy Bang , Ridin Solo - Jason Derulo , Airplanes - B.o.B , Find Your Love - Drake , Flashing Lights - Kanye West , Replay - IYAZ , Renée - Lost Boyz Download the song: Amazon

Watch Me Do - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 112 bpm Recommended bpm range: 110 to 115 bpm The DJ's Take: Not a bad follow-up to NO . Maybe a little generic, but this is dance-able urban-y R&B that should play well earlier on in a pop set. If you're around 108-110 bpm, try mixing or mashing up with tracks like: I Wish (My Taylor Swift) - The Knocks & Matthew Koma Feel Right - Mark Ronson ft. Mystikal Peaches N Cream - Snoop Dogg Get Down On It - Kool & The Gang Trouble - Iggy Azalea ft. Jennifer Hudson Doing It - Charli XCX ft. Rita Ora Jump Around - House of Pain Let's Get Blown - Snoop Dogg ft. Pharrell Download the song: iTunes Amazon

NO - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 94 bpm Recommended bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm The DJ's Take: This track is a pretty good illustration of what happens when you deviate from your signature sound - you start sounding a little more like everyone else. But sometimes there's a benefit to fitting in, especially when some may say doo-wopPop is nothing more than a novelty. In any case, worth a spot in the new music playlist. If you're in the 90 to 95 bpm range, try mixing with key-compatible tracks like:

Marvin Gaye - Charlie Puth ft. Meghan Trainor

Speed: 110 bpm The DJ's Take: Did I just watch a 3.5 minute episode of Glee? Doowop-Pop hasn't exploded, but it's got fans, as evidenced by the popularity of this song. Probably won't set the dancefloor aflame, at least for now, because of the energy level. I'd consider downloading it anyway, for specific requests or a recorded mix. If you're staying around 105 to 110 bpm, try mixing with tracks like The Monster - Eminem ft. Rihanna , Mo Money Mo Problems - Notorious BIG and Turn Me On - Kevin Lyttle . If you're pushing closer to 115 bpm , try mixing with tracks like Cheerleader - OMI , I Don't Mind - Usher , Dynamite - Taio Cruz , Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car - Billy Ocean , Black or White - Michael Jackson , and Just Dance - Lady Gaga . Dear Future Husband - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 159 bpm Recommended bpm range: 155 to 160 bpm The DJ's Take: While I don't see doowop pop becoming any more than a passing novelty, it sure is working for Meghan Trainor. Hard to listen to if you're not a teenaged female, but a unique change of pace song and worth a download if you spin Top 40. The interesting thing here is the key change - maybe transition in with something like a slowed-down Miss Independent - NeYo and transition out with tracks like Live Your Life - Rihanna and Irresistible - Fall Out Boy (or Runaround Sue - Dion if you're spinning at the local sockhop). Then maybe you can gradually speed up and get into The Man - Aloe Blacc , Royals - Lorde and Paper Planes - MIA .  Download the song: iTunes Amazon

Lips Are Movin - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 139 bpm The DJ's Take:  Looks like Meghan Trainor's got a monopoly on Hairspray-inspired doo woo pop. Is the follow-up to All About That Bass a hit? Maybe, although it's not quite as fun to sing the hook. Worth a flyer though, while people can still recognize her voice. If you're staying key-compatible, try double-timing over tracks like X - Chris Brown ,  Can't Hold Us - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis ,  Day N Nite - Kid Cudi  and  Big Pimpin - Jay-Z . Or if you're trying to transition down into the 130 to 135 bpm range, try blending with Feel This Moment - Pitbull . Download the song: Amazon: Lips Are Movin

All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 134 bpm The DJ's Take:  Definitely one for the ladies, but I have to admit - it's catchy. Sounds like a hit, so certainly worth a download for your next sock hop or shindig - would make a pretty nice little mashup/mix with  Beautiful Girls - Sean Kingston . Some other key-compatible (although slower) mix recommendations include La La La - Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith , Pompeii - Bastille , Invincible - Borgeous , Dear Boy - Avicii , I Could Be the One (Avicii vs Nicky Romero) [Nicktim - Radio Edit] - Single - Avicii & Nicky Romero , Cinema - Benny Benassi , The Other Side - Jason Derulo , Alive - Krewella , and The Veldt - EP - deadmau5 . Or try double-timing over something like Pop That - French Montana or Pour It Up - Rihanna for an NSFW (Not Safe For Weddings) mix. Download the song: Amazon: All About That Bass
