I'm So Paid - Akon ft. Lil Wayne & Young Jeezy

tempo: 92-93 bpm the DJ's take:  Song #3 in episode 73 of my dj mix show (4:44): I'd chosen the section for the transition from this one into Rihanna's Kiss It Better , but wasn't satisfied ending it with a simple fade out. So I broke out the scalpel and did some surgery in Logic Pro : I can count on one hand the number of times I've scratched/cut at a gig, and it was always very simple. My friend was more of a turntablist , and he'd use whiteout or tape (or something like that) to mark off spots on a record where he could cut in a good lyric or get a big sound for a scratch. Can be pretty cool in the proper dosage. Administer liberally if you're a legend: download or stream I'm So Paid: amazon dj cheat sheet playlist

Amazing - Kanye West ft. Young Jeezy

tempo: 73 bpm bpm range: 70 bpm  to  75 bpm the dj's take: Song #7 in our 32XL mix (15:53): As you can hear, we made good use of that opening percussion to smooth out the transitions in and out - might be the highlight of the session, in my opinion. Good one to drop on a pop or a hiphop night. Some other key-compatible tracks: Bottoms Up - Trey Songz ft. Nicki Minaj SAD! - XXXTENTACION All Night - The Vamps & Matoma Broccoli - D.R.A.M. ft. Lil Yachty Low Life - Future + The Weeknd RGF Island - Fetty Wap Blood On the Money - Future Trophies - Drake Give Me A Try - Sizzla Bottoms Up - Trey Songz BedRock - Young Money Got Your Back - T.I. ft. I'm Goin In - Drake ft. Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy

tempo: 85 bpm bpm range: 80 bpm to 85 bpm , 85 bpm to 90 bpm the DJ’s take: Production on this reminds me of the dungeon music from Final Fantasy on the original Game Boy. Should go over well in a high school football locker room, within a group of spies before a big mission, or among a dentist and his / her hygienists before a root canal. Not exactly key-compatible, but if you're between 80 and 85 bpm, try mixing with: Sure Thing - Miguel Golden - Travie McCoy ft. Sia Talk That Talk - Rihanna And between 85 and 90 bpm: Crying In The Club - Camila Cabello Throw It In The Bag - Fabolous Cheap Thrills - Sia Ridin Solo - Jason Derulo Take On Me (Kygo Remix) - A-Ha Should've Been Us - Tori Kelly Stereo Hearts - Gym Class Heroes download or stream the song: amazon itunes

Hard - Rihanna ft. Young Jeezy

tempo: 91 bpm bpm range:   90  to  95 bpm the DJ’s take:  First off, I'd like to thank Rihanna for her service. No need to wait till Veterans' Day. And a fun background fact: when interviewed about the video , she described the theme as 'couture-military.' Guess that never really caught on, but don't be surprised if the local army-navy store becomes a hot spot to shop in the near future. As for the song, probably not making the cut for her Greatest Hits album. But it's decent filler on a pop night, and there are some good key-compatible tracks to mix into (see scroll-down box below): Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix) - Kanye West ft. Jay-Z Nuthin But A G Thang - Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody) - Bebe Rexha ft. Lil Wayne Perfect Pint - Mike WiLL Made-It Waterfall - Stargate, P!nk, Sia Despacito (Remix) - Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Justin Bieber LUV - Tory Lanez Sit Still, Look Pretty - Daya Hide Away - Daya Again - ...
