American Oxygen - Rihanna

Speed: 79 bpm Recommended bpm range:  75 bpm  to  80 bpm The DJ's Take: I think the producer got a little carried away with the distorted sound - would be interesting to hear how it'd translate on a big audio system (had to make sure this wasn't some pirated version). Key & bpm-wise, I think it could go well with Messin' Around - Pitbull ft. Enrique Iglesias , Live Your Life - T.I. ft Rihanna , I'm On One - DJ Khaled , and Miss Me - Drake . Bump up to about 83 bpm and tracks like Be As You Are (JordanXL Remix) - Mike Posner , Paper Planes - MIA , Royals - Lorde , The Man - Aloe Blacc , and Irresistible - Fall Out Boy should work. Addicted To A Memory - Zedd ft. Bahari

Speed: 128 bpm Recommended bpm range:   125  to  130 bpm The DJ's Take: This kind of reminds me of Madonna's Beautiful Stranger . Mysterious, ethereal vibe with the key-shifting vocals and buildup. Worth a spin during an EDM set, and could make a nice little mix or mashup with Shut Up and Dance - Walk The Moon . Download or stream the song: Spotify playlist Apple Music iTunes

Dear Future Husband - Meghan Trainor

Speed: 159 bpm Recommended bpm range: 155 to 160 bpm The DJ's Take: While I don't see doowop pop becoming any more than a passing novelty, it sure is working for Meghan Trainor. Hard to listen to if you're not a teenaged female, but a unique change of pace song and worth a download if you spin Top 40. The interesting thing here is the key change - maybe transition in with something like a slowed-down Miss Independent - NeYo and transition out with tracks like Live Your Life - Rihanna and Irresistible - Fall Out Boy (or Runaround Sue - Dion if you're spinning at the local sockhop). Then maybe you can gradually speed up and get into The Man - Aloe Blacc , Royals - Lorde and Paper Planes - MIA .  Download the song: iTunes Amazon

King Kunta - Kendrick Lamar

Speed: 107 bpm Recommended bpm range:   105  to  110 bpm The DJ's Take: Has a definite 70s funk vibe, and I like it. Blast it in the car, skate to it, or groove when this comes on in the club - a rare modern hiphop track with versatility. This would make a dope little mix/mashup with Blondie's Rapture . If you're staying key-compatible with that soft guitar running through most of the song, you can also try mixing and mashing up with tracks like:

Nobody Love - Tori Kelly

Speed: 100 bpm Recommended bpm range:   95  to  100 bpm ,  100  to  105 bpm The DJ's Take: Yes, I'm a sucker for a traditional hiphop/break beat, but this feels like a pretty solid little pop song. Should fit seamlessly into almost any Top 40 playlist. If you're in that 95 to 100 bpm range and want to stay key-compatible, try mixing or mashing up with tracks like Love Me Harder - Ariana Grande ft. The Weeknd , No Mediocre - T.I. , Juicy - Notorious BIG , Rack City - Tyga , Single Ladies - Beyoncé , and Headband - B.o.B . If you're in that 100 to 105 bpm range, try mixing with tracks like Ain't It Fun - Paramore , Mo Money Mo Problems - Notorious BIG , Going Back To Cali - Notorious BIG , Love More - Chris Brown , and Turn Me On - Kevin Lyttle . See You Again - Wiz Khalifa (ft. Charlie Puth)

tempo: 80 bpm bpm range:  75 bpm  to  80 bpm ,  80 bpm to 85 bpm The DJ's Take: Maybe the biggest song of 2015, with a hook that made Charlie Puth a star. Should have a lengthy shelf life as a throwback. Although when it comes to staying power, can anything beat Civil War hardtack? A couple key-compatible tracks from 80 to 85 bpm: Gotta Lotta - 2 Chainz ft. Lil Wayne The Heart Wants What It Wants - Selena Gomez And from 75 to 80 bpm: High End - Chris Brown ft. Future, Young Thug rockstar - Post Malone, 21 Savage We Did It - AREA21 Knock You Down - Keri Hilson, Kanye West, NeYo I Need A Doctor - Dr. Dre ft. Eminem Welcome to Jamrock - Damian Marley Stick Talk - Future Myself - NAV Reminder - The Weeknd Bounce - 2 Chainz ft. Lil Wayne Come & Get It - Selena Gomez download or stream See You Again: spotify playlist iTunes amazon

Bills - LunchMoney Lewis

Speed: 126 bpm Recommended bpm range:   120  to  125 bpm ,  125  to  130 bpm The DJ's Take: I don't know about you, but this smells like a one-hit wonder to me. Doesn't initially seem like something that'd get people dancing (at least not seriously), but it's unique-sounding enough that maybe it'll resurrect the Charleston . If you're staying key-compatible, try mixing with tracks like New Romantics - Taylor Swift , I Really Like You - Carly Rae Jepsen , Let Me Love You - NeYo , and California Gurls - Katy Perry . And if you want to dial up a couple bpm's, Part of Me - Katy Perry and I Wanna Go - Britney Spears could work too. Download or stream the song: Spotify playlist Apple Music Amazon
