Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush

tempo: 109 bpm the DJ's take: The feature song in mix #76 (2:35): The first 20 seconds are worth clipping and looping for a potential mashup/remix. Haven't tried it yet, but this might be interesting over Jason Derulo's Want to Want Me . Or maybe throw it together with Drake's Down Hill and call it 'Running Up and Down That Hill.' The possibilities are endless. download or stream Running Up That Hill: amazon dj cheat sheet playlist

Logic Pro Tutorial: Selecting all (or multiple) regions in a project

When I'm making a mix or mashup in Logic Pro , it often becomes clear that an edit needs to be made. Maybe we want to try inserting a new song or sample into the middle of the project, or moving around pieces to improve the flow. But how do you do that without ruining the parts of the project you want to leave as is? In this video, we go over how to select multiple regions of a project so you can keep them together and move them around as one. Maybe more of an advanced beginner/intermediate level tutorial, but I think it'll still be useful for someone who's just getting started too. The featured project is my mashup You Know You Like Roses (ft. Eminem, DJ Snake, DMX, and Saint JHn) . And here's a link to our most basic (and popular) tutorial, How to Start a New Mix in Logic Pro . Background music for the video: Mellow Drama - sterling mercury

DJ mix/mashup: Watch Your Bad Habits (ft. Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Disclosure, and more)

Made with Logic Pro at 121 bpm Took me awhile; I probably went through about 15 different songs off this DJ Cheat Sheet playlist , and settled on something simple. Percussion throughout is from the opening to Disclosure's Watch Your Step . The Rihanna vocals come from the very end of Disturbia where the drums peel off, then we threw in a little sample from the beginning of Jax Jones' You Don't Know Me to break up the monotony. Second half felt better - the beginning of Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits before the drums drop in was a nice loop, and then we threw in the beginning guitar riff from Swedish House Mafia's Don't You Worry Child to thicken it up a bit. On a side note, I thought the opening part of Tame Impala's The Moment over the aforementioned Rihanna vocal from Disturbia could've been interesting, but I couldn't find a spot to fit it in for this session. Maybe some other time.

DJ mix/mashup: Throw Sum Mo Mercy (ft. Ginuwine and Kanye West)

Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm This one came together a little quicker than usual. Can't go wrong with that heavy intro to Ginuwine's Pony; wanted to add a couple softer, percussion-free instrumentals on top, Lemonade and 7 rings came to mind, and away we went. Decent little party mix/mashup, if I do say so myself - or at least the beginning of one. The ingredients (and hopefully some inspiration for your next creation): DJ Cheat Sheet playlist . Lemonade - Internet Money, Don Toliver, Gunna, NAV Pony - Ginuwine 7 rings - Ariana Grande Mercy - Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T, 2 Chainz Jumpman - Drake, Future Throw Sum Mo - Rae Sremmurd, Nicki Minaj

DJ mix/mashup: roxanne loves cheap thrills (ft. Harry Styles' As It Was x a-ha's Take On Me)

Made with Logic Pro at 86 bpm Quick note on what I did with Harry Styles' As It Was - the original plan was to use that 10 note drum-less synth intro on a loop. But things got a bit more complicated when I realized the 10th note came with a heavy drum hit. So we did a little surgery, subbed in the same note without the drum, and cut it up to get a decent imitation of what I wanted in the beginning.
