Poison - Bell Biv DeVoe

tempo: 112 bpm

bpm range: 110 to 115 bpm

the DJ’s take: One of those rare tracks where everyone recognizes it from the first couple beats, and they immediately react like this. Came out around 1990, and very few if any tracks since then have managed to match it for straight danceability and sing-along-ability. Simply put, you need this in your collection.

Try mixing or mashing up with:

Routine - Alan Walker x David Whistle
Safe And Sound - Justice
D.A.N.C.E. - Justice
Kiss The Sky - Jason Derulo
Fast Car - Jonas Blue ft. Dakota
C O O L - Le Youth
Say My Name - ODESZA ft. Zyra
Mic Jack - Big Boi & Adam Levine

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
