Please Don't Go - Mike Posner

tempo: 120 bpm

bpm range: 115 to 120 bpm120 to 125 bpm

The DJ’s Take: Calm and serene, and has a funky keyboard that reminds me of the one Stevie Wonder uses in Boogie On Reggae Woman. Plus, it starts to flutter later on in the song, which makes you feel like you’re playing Centipede:

A former Top 20 hit that should add a little futuristic flavor as a throwback in a pop mix.

Some key-compatible tracks to mix / mash up with from 115 to 119 bpm:

Freedom - Pitbull
Hold Up, Wait A Minute - ZHU
Cake By The Ocean - DNCE
Take Your Time (Do It Right) by The S.O.S. Band

And from 120 to 125:

Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell
My Way - Calvin Harris
Good Girls Lie - Akon
How Deep is Your Love - Calvin Harris + Disciples
Talking Body - Tove Lo
She Came To Give It To You - Usher
Ghost Town - Adam Lambert
Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
