Hey Now - Martin Solveig & The Cataracs (ft. Kyle)

Speed: 128 bpm

The DJ's Take: Who cares if summer is coming to an end? As long as there's warm weather and sunshine, there's still room for this track on your playlist. I imagine Hey Now would taste like Orange Crush if you could drink it. Worth a spin? Depends on the audience - play sparingly if the crowd is expecting Top 40. But if you insist, here are some companion songs that should sound ok key-wise:

Take Me - Tiesto, We Run The Night - Havana Brown ft. Pitbull, Marry The Night - Lady Gaga, Club Can't Handle Me - Flo Rida, Danza Kuduro - Don Omar, Shut It Down - Pitbull ft. Akon, Feel So Close - Calvin Harris, F*ck You - Ceelo Green, Push It - Salt N Pepa, U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer, Right Round - Flo Rida

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
