Lay It All On Me - Rudimental ft. Ed Sheeran

Speed: 122.5 bpm

Recommended bpm range: 120 to 125 bpm, 125 to 130 bpm

The DJ's Take: We covered this one in the newsletter a couple weeks ago, and it looks like there's some staying power here. Doesn't have the sunny disposition you'd expect from a pop dance hit, but has a steady bounce and groove to keep things moving. If you're in the 120 bpm range and want to brighten it up a little, try blending with tracks like How Will I Know - Whitney Houston, Girls Just Want to Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper, and I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston (or Jaded - Disclosure if you're maintaining a more serious vibe).

If you're bumping up to 125 bpm +, try mixing with songs like A Sky Full Of Stars - Coldplay, You Make Me - Avicii, On The Floor - Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull,Give It 2 U - Robin Thicke, Live For The Night - Krewella, Don't Stop The Party - Pitbull, Right Now - Rihanna and David Guetta, We Found Love - Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris, S&M - Rihanna, Bulletproof - La Roux, Low (feat. T-Pain) - Flo Rida, and Calabria 2007 - Enur.

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
