In The Night - The Weeknd

tempo: 112 bpm

bpm range: 110 to 115 bpm

The DJ's Take: Major Michael Jackson vibes - if you're doing choreography for this one, go heavy on the fedoras and finger snaps. Decent hit when it came out in 2015, and should still work on a Top 40 night.

A couple key-compatible tracks between 105 and 110 bpm:

Can't Feel My Face - The Weeknd
Light It Up (Remix) - Major Lazer
Bang My Head - David Guetta ft. Sia & Fetty Wap

And a few more from 110 to 115:

Secrets - The Weeknd
CAN'T STOP THE FEELING! - Justin Timberlake
In The Night - The Weeknd
I Love You - Axwell /\ Ingrosso
Adventure of a Lifetime - Coldplay
Rockin' - The Weeknd
This One's For You - David Guetta ft. Zara Larsson

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
