Know Ya - Ty Dolla $ign ft. Trey Songz

Speed: 68 bpm

Recommended bpm range: 65 bpm to 70 bpm

The DJ's Take: I'm a little confused - is Ty Dolla $ign supposed to be a rapper or a singer? Hmm... let's just call him a ringer. This one feels like something R. Kelly would do; has a nice little bounce to it. Keep in mind there are lengthy portions with talking at the beginning (very reminiscent of the original version of Biggie's One More Chance) and end, so watch for that.

On a side note, some advice to the younger guys out there - if you just started dating a girl and she's making you take it slow, this track represents one potential scenario she's worried about. Or she could just be playing you. So good luck with that.

Try mixing or mashing up with tracks like White Iverson - Post Malone, Gold Bottles - Jeezy, Big Rings - Drake & Future, Where Are Ü Now - Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber, Feeling Myself - Nicki Minaj, Lips Are Movin - Meghan TrainorX - Chris BrownCan't Hold Us - Macklemore and Ryan LewisDay N Nite - Kid Cudi, Big Pimpin - Jay-Z, and Feel This Moment - Pitbull.

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
