Pop Style - Drake ft. The Throne

Speed: 66.5 bpm

Recommended bpm range: 65 bpm to 70 bpm

The DJ's Take: If a track features Drake, Kanye, and Jay-Z, it's pretty much a must-download, right? The beat is interesting - almost feels like the background theme for a dystopian future with gray skies, droopy, leafless trees swaying in the wind, and robots. Lots of robots.

If you're in the 60 to 65 bpm range, try mixing with tracks like Bad Intentions - Niykee Heaton ft. Migos, waves - Miguel ft. Travis Scott, and Jam - Kevin Gates ft. Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign, Jamie Foxx.

If you're in the 65 to 70 bpm range, Pop That - French Montana, Iz U Down - Kid Ink ft. Tyga, and No Option - Kid Ink could work.

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
