Stay - Zedd, Alessia Cara

tempo: 102 bpm

bpm range: 100 to 105 bpm

the DJ's take: Song #7 in our Beat Salad 103 mix (starts at 15:10):

A former Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, this one thumps on a car stereo. And if it was popular enough for the USC marching band to play at a pep rally, it's certainly worth a spin on a pop night:

DJ mix: session 76 ft. Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill

Tracklist (start times in parentheses): 1. Crazy - Gnarls Barkley 2. Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush (2:35) 3. Rock Steady - The Whispers (4:34) 4. Because of You - Ne-Yo (6:56) 5. I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - Hall & Oates (10:05) 6. You Owe Me - Nas ft. Ginuwine (12:21) 7. After Hours - The Weeknd (14:54) 8. Down Hill - Drake (15:11)

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
