I'll Be Missing You - Diddy, Faith Evans ft. 112

tempo: 110 bpm

bpm range: 105 to 110 bpm, 110 to 115 bpm

the dj's take: Who knew that Gordon Sumner would inspire one of the most notable hiphop tracks of the 90s. Major crossover appeal, and people definitely remember that hook. Get it in the rotation for a throwback night, or as a retro change of pace in a pop set.

Some key-compatible tracks to mix with between 105 and 110 bpm:

I Wish (My Taylor Swift) - The Knocks & Matthew Koma
Trouble - Iggy Azalea ft. Jennifer Hudson
Doing It - Charli XCX ft. Rita Ora
Jump Around - House of Pain
Let's Get Blown - Snoop Dogg ft. Pharrell

And from 110 to 115 bpm:

Changes - Tupac
Watch Me Do - Meghan Trainor
Feel Right - Mark Ronson ft. Mystikal
Peaches N Cream - Snoop Dogg
Get Down On It - Kool & The Gang

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
