Cinderella - Mac Miller ft. Ty Dolla $ign

tempo: 70 bpm

bpm range: 70 bpm to 75 bpm

the dj's take: Song #7 in our chapter 56 mix (13:05):

That simple guitar is what makes this sound pretty cool over the instrumental for No Doubt's Underneath It All. Could make for an interesting mashup if you really feel like exploring it.

On a side note, not to nitpick, but I got a little confused after hearing the line where Mac Miller says 'I do you like a chore.' Because most people don't do their chores with a ton of enthusiasm or energy, right? And isn't he talking about the love of his life? Then again, it rolls off the tongue a lot better than 'I do you like the research for my fantasy football team.' And who knows - maybe he was unusually studious about doing the laundry or raking the leaves.

Either way, rap's tough. That's why we leave it to the professionals.

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
