Monster - Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber

tempo: 73 bpm

the dj's take: Song #3 in episode 58 (5:49):

As I dug up the video for this post, youtube suggested this in the sidebar:

Skip the sleeping pills; half a listen will put you down for the count. In fact, if Monster ever made a sedative-laced anti-energy drink, I would pitch this as the theme music for an ad campaign. That said, it still works as a harmonic follow-up to Drake's Fake Love. And we slotted in Ariana Grande's positions right afterward, so all's well that ends well.

Some other key-compatible tracks from 70 to 75 bpm:

Blocks - Marshmello
Locked Out Of Heaven - Bruno Mars
All I Do Is Win - DJ Khaled
Handsome And Wealthy - Migos
Holy Grail - Jay-Z ft. Justin Timberlake
First Day Out - Kodak Black

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
