dj mix/mashup: Five More Hours and I'm Good (ft. David Guetta, Bebe Rexha, Deorro and Chris Brown)

Made with Logic Pro at 127 bpm

A little strange to see I'm Good get popular - the original Eiffel 65 song came out when I was in college, and it was something you threw into the Winamp playlist and blasted at a dorm room party on a Thursday night as you did a silly dance after your sixth whiskey sour. The nice thing is you can drop that unmistakable riff over a good selection of key and bpm-compatible dance tracks.

As you can see, there's a good sliver starting around 0:43-44 seconds in; it's the vocal-free riff plus full-on percussion. That'll give you a solid ~15 seconds to play with or loop a few times, like I did. If you just want the piano without the percussion, isolate the section at the very beginning.

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
