dj mix/mashup: Someone To Pour It Up (Aaliyah, Mariah Carey, Jon B. ft. Babyface, Rihanna)

Made with Logic Pro at 65 bpm

Overall, we took a few songs from this playlist and this playlist, and had them meet in the middle at 65 bpm. I could listen to the chorus for Someone to Love on repeat, which basically sums up the entire second half of this mix.

And a quick note - that zooming sound at 1:24 in the leadup to Someone to Love is called "Descending Below" in Logic Pro. Pretty good for transitions, and loud enough that you don't have to jack up the volume over your mix.

Starboy - The Weeknd, Daft Punk

tempo: 93 bpm bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #6 in our chapter 53 mix (11:38): As we saw with the I Wonder lead-in, that percussion-only intro makes this easier to mix and to play around with. Also melts nicely into Nine Inch Nails' Closer . In fact, even though I know when the transition's coming, it still creeps up on me a bit. Still worth a spot in your prime-time pop rotation.
