dj mix/mashup: SORRY for Shaking Off My Bad Habits (ft. Mariah Carey, Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé)

Made with Logic Pro at 132 bpm Title of this mix doesn't make much sense, but we managed to fit in the names of all 3 songs somehow. I'd been wanting to lay that percussion-less intro to Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits over something, and it was nice to finally get around to it. A simple yet effective blend overall; I like how this came out. Songs come from this playlist and this one .

dj mix/mashup: sorry [beyoncé] x push the feeling on [nightcrawlers]

Made with Logic Pro at 124 bpm Clip from mix #72 - this was the beginning of the end. Half-timing from the bouncy dance track that Pitbull jacked for Hotel Room Service into the slower hiphop and r&b portion of the program. Something kind of surreal about hearing that distorted 'you... you... you...' over the dying embers of a familiar instrumental, like we're circling the drain. Sounds about right. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist

Irreplaceable - Beyoncé

tempo: 88 bpm the dj's take: Song #1 in mix #67 : I don't really listen to lyrics, but that songwriting is top shelf. A must-spin for any ladies' night set. As you can tell, I'm more of a 'let the song play out a bit,' so for me, the best time to transition out is ~2:30 when she's singing 'to the left, to the left.' We slipped the vocal-free intro to 7am On Bridle Path over the little break and that worked out pretty well. Here's how it looked in Logic Pro X : Try mixing with: Started From The Bottom - Drake Love the Way You Lie - Eminem ft. APESHIT - THE CARTERS

tempo: 80 bpm bpm range: 75 bpm  to  80 bpm ,  80 bpm  to  85 bpm the dj's take:  Song #4 in detour 44  (8:32): The beat sounds like Black Beatles on molly. A solid party track designed to make a crowd go apeshit. Do not blast this in the car though, unless you feel like getting a speeding ticket. Most importantly, easy to mix; nice minimal intro, and then gets right down to business. Slow down a couple bpm's and this could sound cool with I'm Upset - Drake . Some other key-compatible tracks from 80 to 85 bpm: Truth Hurts - Lizzo Nobody Speak - DJ Shadow ft. Drunk In Love - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z

tempo: 70 bpm bpm range: 65 bpm to 70 bpm , 70 bpm to 75 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #2 in Episode 41 (2:17): Got in and got out pretty quickly, but it's a quality cut. Super deep bass, so keep that in mind when you're deciding what to mix with - blasting this on top of another heavy track may distort the sound and pop the speakers. A virtual lock to get the females singing along on a pop or hiphop night. Some other key-compatible music: Ni**as in Paris - JAY-Z & Kanye West Deuces - Chris Brown Curve - Gucci Mane ft. Freedom - Beyoncé ft. Kendrick Lamar

tempo: 85 bpm bpm range: 80 bpm  to  85 bpm ,  85 bpm  to  90 bpm the dj's take: Track #4 in Volume 35: Back to School (8:56): That transition from Clique is about as close as I can come to taking you to church, outside of lugging an organ into your house and busting out a Bach fugue. Or asking for a donation to fund my private jet . Full compliments to Just Blaze and Hit-Boy. minimashup: Say My Toxic Name

Two of the great chick tracks in modern party history - I'm willing to bet that plenty of females up to the age of 40 will know the words. If you're spinning a set with music from ~2000, these are pretty handy to have. Download links: Made with Logic Pro X at 72 bpm Toxic - Britney Spears Say My Name - Destiny's Child

Before I Let Go - Beyoncé

tempo: 103 bpm bpm range: 100  to  105 bpm the dj's take: The leadoff song in our exexseven mix: That bass starting around 1:43 makes me think of an old 2Pac track: Funky. Anyway, whether you prefer the cover or the original, it's new Beyoncé, so this should probably go in the rotation. Try mixing with: Wow. - Post Malone Hold On, We're Going Home - Drake Galway Girl - Ed Sheeran Alive - Sia Talk Dirty - Jason Derulo Middle - DJ Snake Picture Me Rollin' - Chris Brown Most Girls - Hailee Steinfeld Ghost - Ella Henderson 2 On - Tinashe You - Lost Kings ft. Top Off - DJ Khaled, JAY Z, Future, Beyoncé

tempo: 65 bpm bpm range:   60 bpm  to  65 bpm ,  65 bpm  to  70 bpm the dj's take: The beat reminds me of a slower, toned-down version of Bone Crusher's Never Scared . Nothing too unique here, but the names are obviously buzzworthy enough for a crowd to recognize it. Should work just fine in a hiphop set at the club or in a lively college bar. Some key-compatible songs to mix / mash up with: Bartier Cardi - Cardi B ft. 21 Savage Modern Slavery - Huncho Jack, Travis Scott, Quavo Love Galore - SZA ft. Family Feud - Jay-Z ft. Beyoncé

tempo: 83 bpm bpm range:   80 bpm  to  85 bpm the dj's take:  Probably won't pop with the youth on a Top 40 or hiphop night. But it's elegant, dignified, and something the grown folk can nod their heads to. I could see turntablists having some fun with this too. Worth a spot in the car or around-the-house playlist. Some tracks to mix with in the 80 to 85 bpm range: Tell Me You Love Me - Demi Lovato Plain Jane - A$AP Ferg Dirty Sexy Money - David Guetta The Way Life Goes - Lil Uzi Vert Black Widow - Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora Reaper - Sia Walk It Out - DJ Unk And from 86 to 88 bpm: Rude Boy - Rihanna Izzo (H.O.V.A.) - Jay-Z Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z ft. Countdown - Beyoncé

tempo: 84 bpm bpm range: 80 bpm to 85 bpm The DJ's Take: Probably not going on her greatest hits album. But it definitely sounds like this was written for college marching bands (skip to 5:47 below): And if you're wondering where the male vocals for the countdown came from: Try mixing or mashing up with tracks like: Clique - Kanye West, Jay-Z, Big Sean Criminal - Natti Natasha x Ozuna Black and Yellow - Wiz Khalifa Learn To Let Go - Kesha So Good - Zara Larsson ft. Ty Dolla $ign On My Mind - Ellie Goulding Bounce - 2 Chainz download or stream Countdown: amazon itunes

Mi Gente - J Balvin, Willy William ft. Beyoncé

tempo: 105 bpm bpm range:   100  to  105 bpm ,  105  to  110 bpm the dj's take: That beat is the definition of an earworm. Huge hit, and maybe an even bigger remix with Beyoncé. Forget about a crossover - this one went full A.I. on everyone: Try mixing or mashing up with these key-compatible tracks: Extra Luv - Future, YG Toothbrush - DNCE Don't Need Nobody - Ellie Goulding BeFoUr - ZAYN Team - Iggy Azalea Nobody Has To Know (Major Lazer & KickRaux Remix) - Kranium ft. Partition - Beyoncé

tempo: 93 bpm bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm The DJ's Take: History will show that President Donald Trump had a plan to build a wall between America and Mexico. Quite an undertaking though. Maybe even more challenging than expected . So here's my idea - instead of a wall, let's re-brand it as a 'partition.' Buy a bunch of these things online and line them up across the border: Looks great, everyone knows which country they're about to enter, and if you can get a bulk discount, Mexico just might change their mind about paying for it. Problem solved. And yes, I am a dummy. As for the track, a minor hit that should fit in nicely in a pop or hiphop set. Plus, that bass is deep and heavy enough to smother a room on the right pair of speakers. Worth a longer-term spot in a party rotation. Key-compatible tracks in the 90 to 95 bpm range: ELEMENT. - Kendrick Lamar Company - Justin Bieber Blame It - Jamie Foxx Can't Deny It - Fabolous ft. Na...

7/11 - Beyoncé

tempo: 68 bpm bpm range: 65 bpm  to  70 bpm The DJ's Take: Kind of strange to hear all that auto-tune on one of the biggest voices in the industry. But let's be real - this was intended as a club banger, and it generally hit the spot. My only question: where's the product placement for maybe the biggest convenience store chain in the US ? Missed opportunity there. If you're looking for key-compatible songs from 65 to 70 bpm, try mixing or mashing up with: Tuesday - I LOVE MAKONNEN Young Forever - Jay-Z Love In This Club (feat. Young Jeezy) - Usher We Belong Together - Mariah Carey What's Your Fantasy - Ludacris Remember Me - Chris Brown ft.
