Partition - Beyoncé

tempo: 93 bpm

bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm

The DJ's Take: History will show that President Donald Trump had a plan to build a wall between America and Mexico. Quite an undertaking though. Maybe even more challenging than expected.

So here's my idea - instead of a wall, let's re-brand it as a 'partition.' Buy a bunch of these things online and line them up across the border:

Looks great, everyone knows which country they're about to enter, and if you can get a bulk discount, Mexico just might change their mind about paying for it. Problem solved.

And yes, I am a dummy.

As for the track, a minor hit that should fit in nicely in a pop or hiphop set. Plus, that bass is deep and heavy enough to smother a room on the right pair of speakers. Worth a longer-term spot in a party rotation.

Key-compatible tracks in the 90 to 95 bpm range:

From 95 to 100 bpm:

I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me) - Jay-Z
Feel No Ways - Drake
Misery - Gwen Stefani
Show Me - Kid Ink
You And Your Friends - Wiz Khalifa

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
