Be Faithful - Fatman Scoop ft. Faith Evans

tempo: 101 bpm bpm range: 100 to 105 bpm the DJ’s take: Song #1 in session 52 : One of the greatest party tracks ever, and I don't think it'll lose that status anytime soon. That said, you need to pick your spots. Probably a little loud for a casual, laidback bar setting. Best time to start moving out of this is when the vocals go 'engine engine number 9...' ( here's where that sample came from , if you didn't know already). After that little interlude, Fatman Scoop starts yelling 'who fuckin tonight, who fuckin tonight,' so I took that out and had him saying 'let's go' on repeat as we transitioned into Drake's Blem : Some other key-compatible tracks to mix with: Blueberry Faygo - Lil Mosey Dreamlover - Mariah Carey It's Great to Be Here - Jackson 5 Happier - Marshmello, Bastille Lonely Together - Avicii ft. Rita Ora Me & The Rhythm - Selena Gomez Crazy In Love - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z Doo Wop (That Thi...

It's Great to Be Here - Jackson 5

tempo: 100 bpm the dj's take: Song #1 in session 52 : My two favorite parts of this song: the percussion and the bassline. Deceptively funky. Also, don't forget that the slowed down sample is the backdrop for one of the great rap verses of 90s: If you do integrate this into a mix, I like the idea of using that break starting ~2:04 into the song as a natural exit point. Overlapping this with Mariah Carey's Dreamlover sounded even better than I expected - that could be the beginning of an interesting mashup/instrumental. Some other key-compatible music: Blueberry Faygo - Lil Mosey Be Faithful - Fatman Scoop Happier - Marshmello, Bastille Lonely Together - Avicii ft. Rita Ora Me & The Rhythm - Selena Gomez Crazy In Love - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z Doo Wop (That Thing) - Lauryn Hill I Think Of You - Jeremih, Chris Brown, Big Sean Kiss The Sky - The Knocks Levels - Nick Jonas Pretty Girls - Britney Spears ft. Iggy Azalea download or stream It...

Blueberry Faygo - Lil Mosey

tempo: 99 bpm the dj's take: Song #3 in session 52 (4:35): I'm not normally one to listen to lyrics, but sometimes they tell you when it's time to make a transition in a mix. In this case, hearing Lil Mosey say 'big' made me think of Fatman Scoop yelling 'Bass Drop!' near the beginning of Be Faithful . So together, they say 'big bass drop' (via genius.com): Entertained the idea of overlapping the two, but the heavy drums from Be Faithful kind of drowned out Lil Mosey, so we opted for the drop instead. Worth a try in your next pop/hiphop set. Some other key-compatible music: Happier - Marshmello, Bastille Lonely Together - Avicii ft. Rita Ora Me & The Rhythm - Selena Gomez Crazy In Love - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z Doo Wop (That Thing) - Lauryn Hill I Think Of You - Jeremih, Chris Brown, Big Sean Kiss The Sky - The Knocks Levels - Nick Jonas Pretty Girls - Britney Spears ft. Where Have You Been - Rihanna

tempo: 128 bpm bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #7 in mix 50 (10:35): So apparently Guinness tracks the world record for highest score on this song in the Just Dance video game . Probably looked something like this: Would you watch? Maybe. Anyway, the aforementioned record was set in 2015, which means it's time for this guy to mount a challenge: Anyway, going back to mix 50, that transition into the Black Eyed Peas Don't Stop The Party is butter. Club-level beat matching there, and strong mashup potential if you have some time to spare. Quick note: I found it was a little softer volume-wise than the other dance music in the track list, so keep that in mind. Some other key-compatible tracks: Titanium - David Guetta ft. Sia Va Va Voom - Nicki Minaj THE SCOTTS - THE SCOTTS, Travis Scott & Kid Cudi Like I Do - David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Brooks I Need Your Love - Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding Where Have You Been - Rih...

Lean Back - Terror Squad, Fat Joe & Remy

tempo: 95 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #6 in our chapter 51 mix (13:11): Theatrical & dramatic; apparently took 15 minutes to make . The reason this goes so well with Gold Digger is threefold - key-compatible, hit big at around the same time, and that fast-knocking drum pattern they share creates a perfect transition point at 14:40. Worth a spin on a throwback hiphop night or a 00s party. Some other tracks to mix with: ROCKSTAR - DaBaby ft. Roddy Ricch Thrift Shop - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz Public Service Announcement - Jay-Z Con Calma - Daddy Yankee, Snow River - Eminem, Ed Sheeran Bella y Sensual - Romeo Santos, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam In My Bed (So So Def Remix) - Dru Hill No Scrubs - TLC Escápate Conmigo - Wisin ft. Ozuna Faith - George Michael Don't You Need Somebody - RedOne Lean Back - Terror Squad, Fat Joe & Remy Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home) [feat. Plies] - Usher Winner - Jamie Foxx Try Again - Aaliyah download or stre...
