Where Have You Been - Rihanna

tempo: 128 bpm

bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm

The DJ's Take: Song #7 in mix 50 (10:35):

So apparently Guinness tracks the world record for highest score on this song in the Just Dance video game. Probably looked something like this:

Would you watch? Maybe. Anyway, the aforementioned record was set in 2015, which means it's time for this guy to mount a challenge:

Anyway, going back to mix 50, that transition into the Black Eyed Peas Don't Stop The Party is butter. Club-level beat matching there, and strong mashup potential if you have some time to spare.

Quick note: I found it was a little softer volume-wise than the other dance music in the track list, so keep that in mind.

DJ mix: session 76 ft. Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
