Music Review: Addiction - Ryan Leslie ft. Fabolous

Speed: 93 bpm

Recommended bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm

The DJ’s Take: Classy hiphop-R&B single from a couple years ago, and a rare track that should keep the floor full even if your average music fan doesn’t know it. Easy to beatmatch in and out of, and best of all, it’s another solid addition to one of our famous in-key mixes (see below).

DJs - try mixing with: NO - Meghan Trainor, No Mediocre - T.I., Boom Clap - Charli XCX, Africa - Toto, Drop It Like It's Hot - Snoop Dogg, It Girl - Jason Derulo, I Got To Have It - Ed OG, Say Aah - Trey Songz, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), In Da Club - 50 Cent, Juicy - Notorious BIG, Why You Wanna - T.I., Ooh! - Mary J. DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
