What's My Name - Rihanna ft. Drake

tempo: 100 bpm

bpm range: 95 to 100 bpm, 100 to 105 bpm

The DJ’s Take: Song #5 in our Session 17 mix (12:06):

Vocals start right away, so try slipping this in as the instrumental from the previous song is fading out. A former #1 single in the country with two megastars, so make it a long-term part of your rotation as a throwback / filler.

If you're in the 95 to 100 bpm range, try mixing with:

And between 100 and 105 bpm:

Middle - DJ Snake Picture Me Rollin' - Chris Brown
Most Girls - Hailee Steinfeld
Ghost - Ella Henderson
2 On - Tinashe
You - Lost Kings ft. Katelyn Tarver
Scenario - A Tribe Called Quest

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
