Cannonball (Earthquake) - Showtek & Justin Prime ft. Matthew Koma

Speed: 128 bpm

The DJ's Take: Would this work in your typical Top 40 club or bar? Probably not. But play it in the middle of an EDM mix at a festival or other setting where people appreciate it, and you may be on to something. The beat definitely pounds as advertised, and there are some notable tracks with compatible keys and bpm's:

I Love It - Icona Pop, Animals - Martin Garrix, Under Control - Calvin Harris & Alesso, Stay The Night - Zedd, Clarity - Zedd, This Is What It Feels Like - Armin Van Buuren, Turn Up The Music - Chris Brown, Wild Ones - Flo Rida ft. Sia, Beautiful People - Chris Brown, Party Rock Anthem - LMFAO, Firework - Katy Perry, I Like It - Enrique Iglesias

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
