Animals - Maroon 5

Speed: 95 bpm

Recommended bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm, 95 to 100 bpm

The DJ's Take: Kind of sounds like a slower version of Misery, doesn't it? For now, probably more elevator music/opening material, but if it keeps getting buzz and downloads, this could become a more important part of your playlist.

For a key-compatible mix, try blending with tracks like YOUTH - Troye Sivan, Company - Justin Bieber, Misery - Gwen Stefani, 0 To 100 - Drake, Bailando - Enrique Iglesias, Partition - Beyoncé, Show Me - Kid InkKilling Me Softly - FugeesSurvival of the Fittest - Mobb Deep, Na Na - Trey Songz, Paranoid - Ty Dolla $ign, Return of the Mack - Mark Morrison, One More Chance - Notorious BIG, No Games - Serani, Real Love - Mary J. Blige, You And Your Friends - Wiz Khalifa, and maybe This Is How We Do - Katy Perry. If you're going up toward 100 bpm, Team - Iggy Azalea and Turn Down For What - DJ Snake & Lil Jon should work.

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
