Versace On The Floor - Bruno Mars

tempo: 87 bpm

bpm range: 85 bpm to 90 bpm

the DJ's take: Sounds like the last song at a late 80s / early 90s high school dance. Just barely straddles that line between parody and legitimate baby-making music. Keep in mind that there's a key change late in the song.

If you're staying key-compatible with the first 3:20 or so, here's a track to mix with in the 80 to 85 bpm range:

Send My Love - Adele

And from 85 to 90:

Despacito - Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Justin Bieber
Perfect Pint - Mike WiLL Made-It ft. Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, Rae Sremmurd
Tunnel Vision - Kodak Black
Chainsaw - Nick Jonas
Be As You Are (JordanXL Remix) - Mike Posner
The Man - Aloe BlaccRoyals - Lorde
Paper Planes - MIA

After the key change, here are some more tracks worth mixing with:

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
