Plain Jane - A$AP Ferg

tempo: 85 bpm

bpm range: 80 bpm to 85 bpm85 bpm to 90 bpm

the dj's take: So apparently this is influenced by an old Three 6 Mafia song. Hard to argue:

I could see this blowing up at a house party or in a more casual urban club. Deserves a spot in the regular hiphop rotation.

Some key-compatible tracks from 80 to 85 bpm:

Dirty Sexy Money - David Guetta
The Way Life Goes - Lil Uzi Vert
Walk It Out - Unk
Redbone - Childish Gambino
Family Feud - Jay-Z ft. Beyoncé
Black Widow - Iggy Azalea ft. Rita Ora
Reaper - Sia

And from 85 to 90 bpm:

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
