Cake - Flo Rida & 99 Percent

tempo: 105 bpm The DJ's Take:  The leadoff song in 45 and Lex : Surprising that this wasn't a bigger hit. Party vibe is undeniable; should play well for people of all ages. Flows nicely into Clean Bandit & Demi Lovato's  Solo , and gets the mix off to a strong start. On a side note, saw this t-shirt on amazon and had a flashback to high school [click the image for the product page]: This is the album that features one of the great workout songs of all-time: I remember being on the tennis team, riding shotgun to an away match, and the coach suddenly asked me to take over the steering wheel so he could eat a sandwich. This song was blasting on the stereo as we were going around 80 mph on the highway. Pretty exhilarating. Also a minor miracle that we didn't all die. Anyway, back to the Flo Rida track - some key-compatible music between 100 and 105 bpm: Something Just Like This - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay Paris - The Chainsmokers Ki...

Whistle - Flo Rida

tempo: 104 bpm bpm range: 100 to 105 bpm The DJ's Take: Song #11 in our nine is fine mix (26:34): Former #1 song in the country, and an infectious hook with a long shelf life - I imagine this could still get a solid reaction in any setting. Wild Ones - Flo Rida ft. Sia

tempo: 127 bpm bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm The DJ's Take:  A top 5 song back in 2012, and an essential element in any pop edm playlist. Even more impressive - apparently that hook took only 15 minutes to write (via wikipedia): Worth a spin on a mainstream dance night. Try mixing with: Beautiful People - Chris Brown & Benny Benassi Who Dat Girl - Flo Rida ft. Akon Animals - Martin Garrix I Like It - Enrique Iglesias ft. Good Feeling - Flo Rida

tempo: 128 bpm bpm range:   125  to  130 bpm The DJ's Take: On paper, Avicii, Etta James, Flo Rida, and an organic-sounding guitar seem like an unconventional combo. In practice, it's a fist-pumping pop edm anthem. Former #3 song in the country, and should still get people moving at weddings or as a throwback at the club. Solid list of key-compatible tracks: C'Mon - Ke$ha Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix) - Lana Del Rey Levels - Avicii Pound The Alarm - Nicki Minaj The Night Is Still Young - Nicki Minaj I Will Never Let You Down - Rita Ora Addicted To You - Avicii Die Young - Ke$ha The Only Way Is Up - Martin Garrix & Tiesto Dare You - Hardwell Calling (Lose My Mind) [Radio Edit] [feat. Who Dat Girl - Flo Rida ft. Akon

tempo: 125 bpm bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm The DJ’s Take: Standard dance track with big names that made some waves in 2010. Serious question - will people look back at pop edm like they do disco? Maybe some pro sports team will host a promo night where everyone can take a blowtorch to their hard drives: If you're in the 120 to 125 bpm range, try mixing with: Telephone - Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé More Than You Know - Axwell /\ Ingrosso Bad Liar - Selena Gomez What Do You Mean? - Justin Bieber One Last Time - Ariana Grande Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-lite Firework - Katy Perry Shed A Light - Robin Schulz, David Guetta ft. Where Them Girls At - David Guetta ft. Flo Rida & Nicki Minaj

tempo: 130 bpm bpm range:   125  to  130 bpm ,  130  to  135 bpm The DJ's Take:  Perfect theme song for when you show up at a party that turns out to be a sausage fest. Probably best employed as a throwback in a pop edm set at a big club. Should get fists pumping with the right crowd. Try mixing with: I Need Your Love - Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding Where Have You Been - Rihanna Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People In The Dark - DEV Pump Up The Jam - Technotronic Shots - LMFAO The Way You Move - Outkast Blame - Calvin Harris ft. Right Round - Flo Rida

tempo: 125 bpm bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm the DJ’s take: Flo Rida in his prime and an uncredited hook from Ke$ha - can't do much better than that. Should get a solid reception on a pop night, especially if your crowd is amenable to throwbacks. Try mixing with some key-compatible tracks in the scroll-down box below: Boom Boom Pow! - Black Eyed Peas Hype - Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris This Is What You Came For - Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna Intoxicated - Martin Solveig & GTA Higher Place - Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike ft. NeYo Shades of Grey - Oliver Heldens & Shaun Frank ft. Club Can't Handle Me - Flo Rida

tempo: 129 bpm bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm the DJ’s take: Is it just me, or does this sound like an electro-version of that Kings of Leon song Use Somebody ? That said, it was the lead track for the movie Step Up 3D , which I believe won a couple Oscars, so that’s something. A fun relic of a bygone era when every single was 128 bpm pop edm. About as bouncy as it gets; worth a spin as an energetic throwback. Try mixing with key-compatible songs like: Spotless - Martin Garrix, Jay Hardway Hold On & Believe - Martin Garrix Slave To The Rhythm - Michael Jackson Birthday - Katy Perry Timber - Pitbull Play Hard - David Guetta Sweet Nothing - Calvin Harris Super Bass - Nicki Minaj Paradise - Benny Benassi and Chris Brown Waiting - Oliver Heldens & Throttle More Than Ever - Breathe Carolina & Ryos Do You Remember - Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul & Lil Jon Something New - Axwell ^ Ingrosso download or stream the song: amazon spotify playlist itunes

At Night - Flo Rida ft. Liz Elias and Akon

Speed: 99 bpm Recommended bpm range: 95 to 100 bpm The DJ's Take: Listen to that chorus and it's pretty clear Flo Rida (or whoever chooses his beats) is a fan of the running man . Doubtful this'll blow up like My House , but it's a breezy, pop-friendly rap track that's worth a spot in your new music playlist. Try mixing with some or all of the following:

Hello Friday - Flo Rida ft. Jason Derulo

Speed: 100 bpm Recommended bpm range: 95 to 100 bpm , 100 to 105 bpm The DJ's Take: Safe to say you should get this in the rotation ASAP. Biggest indicator Flo Rida has hit a new level of popularity - he was a featured performer on the infamous Gronk party cruise . And I'm guessing Rob Gronkowski isn't exactly thumbing through his list of favorite indie artists, trying to musically educate his fans / fellow passengers. If you're around 95 to 100 bpm, try mixing with tracks like:

Dirty Mind - Flo Rida

Speed: 115 bpm Recommended bpm range: 115 to 120 bpm The DJ's Take: Makes you wanna snap your fingers and saunter down the street, doesn't it? Maybe not as catchy as some of his recent hits, but certainly worth a spin. If you're staying key-compatible, try mixing with Waves - Mr. Probz (Robin Schulz Remix) , Latch - Disclosure , Telephone , Say It Right , Sonnentanz and/or Marilyn Monroe - Pharrell . Download the song: Amazon

My House - Flo Rida

Speed: 94 bpm Recommended bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm The DJ's Take: Wouldn't this be the perfect song to play on an episode of MTV Cribs featuring Flo Rida? The piano definitely gives it a warmer, welcoming vibe; doesn't feel like your typical hiphop track. If you're staying key-compatible, try mixing with some or all of the following: Lean On - Major Lazer and DJ Snake , Lush Life - Zara Larsson , Right Hand - Drake , Dance Like We're Making Love - Ciara , Left, Right - YG , Let Me Love You - Mario , Girls Around The World - Lloyd ft. Lil Wayne Download the song: iTunes Amazon

I Don't Like It, I Love It - Flo Rida ft. Robin Thicke and Verdine White

Speed: 118 bpm Recommended bpm range:   115  to  120 bpm The DJ's Take: For some reason, those whistles remind me of Shanice's I Love Your Smile . Don't know how big this will be, but does it matter? Highly infectious beat with a nice infusion of disco and Spanish flavor. I'd try mixing or mashing up with key-compatible tracks like Love Never Felt So Good - Michael Jackson , Motown Philly - Boyz II Men , Tik Tok - Ke$ha , and Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars . If you're making a slow assent into 125-130 bpm, some nice transition tracks could include I Really Like You - Carly Rae Jepse n , New Romantics - Taylor Swift , and Fireball - Pitbull . Download or stream the song: Spotify playlist Apple Music Amazon

GDFR - Flo Rida ft. Sage the Gemini & Lookas

Speed: 73 bpm The DJ's Take:  Beat reminds me of something you'd hear in a smoky 1920's speakeasy . And when that bass drops, that's like waving the green flag at a NASCAR race. Definitely something tipsy twenty-something females can get down to, so I'm giving it a thumbs up. If you're staying key-compatible, try mixing with tracks like Rap God - Eminem , Cupid Shuffle - Cupid , Applause - Lady Gaga ,  I Need A Doctor or Forgot About Dre . Download the song: Amazon: Gdfr (Feat. Sage The Gemini And Lookas)

I Cry - Flo Rida

Speed: 126 bpm The DJ's Take: Kind of strange not to see Flo Rida doing a party video. I feel like if he's trying to do something inspirational, maybe slow it down and go with something a little heavier. Not a bad track, but everything feels a bit rushed here, including the sample. Worth a spin at least to see how your crowd reacts.  Try turning on key adjust and mixing with Call Me Maybe . You can also speed up a little and mix with Feel This Moment , Scream & Shout , and maybe even the Day 'N' Nite dance remix . Download the song: Amazon:
