mini-mashup: unholy x n 2 deep (Sam Smith, Drake, Kim Petras, Future)

Made with Logic Pro at 66 bpm Songs used: Unholy - Sam Smith, Kim Petras N 2 Deep - Drake, Future First I wanted to mix this with M.I.A.'s Bad Girls , but that's been done. Then I thought of Ginuwine's Pony , but apparently that's been done too. So we settled on a specific loop in N 2 Deep that worked well enough with the key of Unholy (which has a good instrumental-only section at the end, starting around 2:19). Obviously not a finished product, but you repeat a few times, and it's the start of something, right? Maybe we'll build this out a little more in the future.

Unholy - Sam Smith ft. Kim Petras

tempo: 65-66 bpm the DJ's take: This one makes me think of M.I.A.'s Bad Girls (~72 bpm) with the Far/Middle Eastern chord progression. I haven't tried it yet, but put both of them at ~69 bpm and that could be an interesting mashup possibility. Try mixing with songs in these playlists: 60 to 65 bpm , 65 to 70 , and 70 to 75 f (for songs are in the low 70s). download or stream Unholy: amazon

How Do You Sleep? - Sam Smith

tempo: 83 bpm bpm range: 80 bpm  to  85 bpm the dj's take: In response to the title of this song, it depends. Sometimes I lie on my side, sometimes on my stomach, usually watching videos on the laptop until my eyelids get heavy. Tend to wake up in the middle of the night, then do something for an hour or two until I'm sleepy again. Dreams come along once in awhile, but they're never bad - most of them revolve around being able to fly. As for the track, definitely worth a spin on a pop night. Or at a pride parade. Try mixing with: Cheers (Drink To That) - Rihanna Location - Khalid Krippy Kush - Farruko, Bad Bunny, Rvssian Holy Key - DJ Khaled Exchange - Bryson Tiller Back Up - DeJ Loaf ft. Big Sean Play No Games - Big Sean Just Kickin' It - Xscape Down and Out - Cam'ron download or stream How Do You Sleep: amazon spotify playlist

Latch - Disclosure ft. Sam Smith

tempo: 122 bpm bpm range: 120  to  125 bpm The DJ's Take: Cool dance track with a unique beat that makes your fingers snap. Feels very UK, but was a hit in the US too, making it into the Billboard Top 10. And those vocals are top shelf. Certainly worth a spin on a pop or dance night. Try mixing or mashing up with: Who Dat Girl - Flo Rida ft. Akon Telephone - Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé More Than You Know - Axwell /\ Ingrosso Bad Liar - Selena Gomez What Do You Mean? - Justin Bieber One Last Time - Ariana Grande Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-lite Firework - Katy Perry Shed A Light - Robin Schulz, David Guetta ft. La La La - Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith

tempo: 125 bpm bpm range: 120  to  125 bpm ,  125  to  130 bpm The DJ's Take: The hook makes me think of this scene from Dumb and Dumber: As for the track, it went #1 in 26 countries , and reached Top 20 status in the US. Worth a spin in a pop or dance set, and should age well. Try blending with some or all of the following to stay key-compatible: Joyriders - Bassjackers & Brooks Green Light - Lorde My Boo - Ghost Town DJs No Money - Galantis Hey - Fais ft. Too Good At Goodbyes - Sam Smith

tempo: 92 bpm bpm range: 90 to 95 bpm the dj's take: I guess the fingersnaps save this one from a dj standpoint, right? Then again, you can always add in your own percussion with something like Logic Pro or Ableton . Anyway, considering the tone and the song title, make Too Good At Goodbyes your closer. A certified hit at this point, and you'll end the night on a high note. Key-compatible tracks from 90 to 95 bpm: Felices los 4 - Maluma Tek Weh Yuh Heart - Sean Paul ft. Tory Lanez The Ocean - Mike Perry ft. Shy Martin Genghis Khan - Miike Snow Slow Motion - Trey Songz And a couple more at 96 bpm: Blank Space - Taylor Swift Back That Azz Up - Juvenile download or stream Too Good At Goodbyes: amazon spotify playlist itunes

Omen - Disclosure ft. Sam Smith

Speed: 106 bpm The DJ's Take: Has that trippy Euro-nightclub vibe a crowd can sway to; I like it. Is it a smash like Latch ? I'm guessing not, simply because of that foreign feel - may lack mass appeal in America. Still, I'd download and throw your crowd a curveball on a pop night or keep things moving in a more stylish venue where there's a dress code. If you're staying key-compatible, try mixing or mashing up with tracks in the 100 to 105 bpm range like About You - Trey Songz , You Know You Like It - DJ Snake and AlunaGeorge , Worth It - Fifth Harmony ,  Stuck On A Feeling - Prince Royce , Electric Feel - MGMT , Sexual Healing - Maxamillion , and Get Low - Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz .
