How Do You Sleep? - Sam Smith

tempo: 83 bpm

bpm range: 80 bpm to 85 bpm

the dj's take: In response to the title of this song, it depends. Sometimes I lie on my side, sometimes on my stomach, usually watching videos on the laptop until my eyelids get heavy. Tend to wake up in the middle of the night, then do something for an hour or two until I'm sleepy again. Dreams come along once in awhile, but they're never bad - most of them revolve around being able to fly.

As for the track, definitely worth a spin on a pop night. Or at a pride parade.

Try mixing with:

Holy Key - DJ Khaled

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
