#TBT: Winner - Jamie Foxx ft. Justin Timberlake and T.I.

tempo: 90 bpm

bpm range: 85 to 90 bpm90 to 95 bpm

the DJ’s take: If someone makes a mixtape of my pickup basketball highlights from ~2000, this would be good background music. Of course, that would also be the shortest video ever, so kind of a waste anyway. Solid list of key-compatible tracks in two bpm ranges:

From 85 to 90 bpm:

Go Off - Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Travis Scott
Sneakin' - Drake, 21 Savage
Bye Bye Bye - NSYNC
Army - Ellie Goulding

From 90 to 95 bpm:

No Scrubs - TLC
Escápate Conmigo - Wisin ft. Ozuna
Faith - George Michael
Don't You Need Somebody - RedOne
Work - Rihanna ft. Drake
Thrift Shop - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Lean Back - Terror Squad, Fat Joe & Remy
Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home) [feat. Plies] - Usher
Try Again - Aaliyah

dj mix/mashup: do you think of me [mariah carey] x always forever [bryson tiller]

Links: Made with Logic Pro at 72 bpm Fun little instrumental blend of Bryson Tiller's Always Forever , which we used in mix 66 , and Mariah Carey's Do You Think of Me , which ended up on the cutting room floor. As you can see up top, I broke out the scalpel and did some slicing to make the beats match up better. Final verdict: Worth it. Follow the playlist on djcheatsheet.com

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .
