Cheyenne - Jason Derulo

Speed: 100 bpm

Recommended bpm range: 95 to 100 bpm100 to 105 bpm

The DJ's Take: Nice background music for an 80s movie as the protagonist searches the city streets for the love interest that got away. Here's my question - is there room for two songs from the same album at the top of the charts at the same time (not counting Taylor Swift)? In this case, I'm guessing not - Want To Want Me is an effusive, dancefloor-friendly blockbuster that'll probably overshadow any of the other singles.

That said, it's a clean, well-produced pop song that should get some radio play. Certainly worth a spin for a mixtape or during the 'new music' portion of your programming.

If you're looking for key-compatible tracks, try going with:

Shots - Imagine Dragons
Classic - The Knocks
Sleeping With A Friend - Neon Trees
Midnight City - M83, Alejandro - Lady Gaga
LoveGame - Lady Gaga
Nasty Boy - Notorious BIG

If you're working in the 97-98 bpm range, Style by Taylor Swift becomes another option.

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
