Meet Me Halfway - Black Eyed Peas

tempo: 131 bpm

bpm range: 125 to 130 bpm, 130 to 135 bpm

the DJ’s take: Song #8 in Episode 40 (10:19):

Took a few minutes to figure out where to drop this in, but I think we made the right call. Another remnant of the pop EDM that flooded the industry ~2010; definitely dropped this a few times at my final college bar residency. Easy listening that the people can dance to - worth a spot in the rotation for special occasions.

DJ mix/mashup: no can do because of you (ft. Hall & Oates and Ne-Yo)

Made with Logic Pro at 113 bpm A quick clip from the last mix , and one of my favorite transitions in it. Kind of alluring, mysterious; maybe we can make a more fully realized remix/mashup someday. If you're wondering what the image is in the background at the start of the video, those are quahogs and a channeled whelk I dug out of the sand in low tide on a recent beach trip. Pretty solid haul, and good eating for sure. Although I probably should've kept them separate - apparently whelks like to eat the clams .

dj mix/mashup: 6 man [drake] x devil in a new dress [kanye west, rick ross]

Made with Logic Pro at 82 bpm Clip from mix #69 - two big beats on top of each other, which I could've done a better job adjusting for a cleaner sound. But if you listen to the actual mix, the transition sounds smooth; my goal for this video was to create a loop that feels like the first draft of a mashup/remix. Worth building on for a future project. Key- and bpm-compatible playlist
